Terms of Service
Liu Cards · Last updated: September 20, 2026
Liu Cards is a flashcards and spaced-repetition app made by Code Suma ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the app, the website at liucards.app, or our interface for AI assistants. By using Liu Cards you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
What Liu Cards does
You create two-sided cards. The app shows each card again just before you would forget it. You can publish cards to a public channel, follow channels other people publish, and save their cards into your own deck. The app is free. There are no ads and nothing to buy.
Your account
The app creates an anonymous account for you the first time you save something. You do not need an email address or a password. You may sign in with Google or Apple to secure that account and use it on more than one device.
Keep control of your account and of any device that is signed in to it. Anything done through your account counts as done by you. Tell us at info@codesuma.dev if you think someone else has access to it.
Liu Cards is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children. Do not use it if you are under 13, or under the minimum age for online services where you live.
Your cards stay yours
You keep every right you already have in the cards you write and the pictures you upload. We claim no ownership of them.
To run the service we need your permission to do a few specific things with your content: store it, copy it for backups, convert it (for example, resize a picture or generate a spoken clip), and show it back to you. This permission is limited to running and improving Liu Cards, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
If you publish a card to a channel, that permission also covers showing the card to other users and letting them save it into their own decks. Deleting a published card removes it from their decks too.
Only post content you have the right to post. Do not publish someone else's material to a channel without their permission.
Channels are public
A channel and every card in it can be seen by anyone using Liu Cards. Treat a channel as publishing, not as sharing with a few people. Personal cards, your saved deck and your review history stay private.
How you may use the service
Use Liu Cards for studying and for publishing study material. Do not:
- Publish anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or designed to deceive people.
- Publish someone else's work, or anyone's personal details, without their permission.
- Break into, overload, probe or disrupt the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Copy the content of channels in bulk, or resell it.
- Use the service to send spam or to advertise.
We may remove content or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may do so without notice when the content is harmful.
Connecting an AI assistant
You may connect an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude to your Liu Cards account. You approve the connection yourself, and it gives the assistant the same reach over your deck that you have in the app: it can read your cards, create and change them, delete them, record reviews, and follow channels. It cannot delete your account. That stays an action you take in the app.
You are responsible for what you ask an assistant to do with your deck, in the same way you are responsible for what you do in the app. An assistant can make mistakes, so check anything that matters before you rely on it. Your conversation with the assistant belongs to whoever provides it, under their own terms and privacy policy, not ours. We only receive what the assistant sends to our tools.
You can end the connection at any time from the assistant's own settings. Personal access tokens are different: treat one like a password, and ask us to revoke it if it leaks.
The Privacy Policy explains exactly which of your data an assistant can read and write.
The service is free, and provided as it is
We work to keep Liu Cards running and to keep your cards safe, but we cannot promise that the service will always be available, that it will be free of faults, or that a card will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
We may change how the app works, add features, or withdraw them. If we ever have to stop the service altogether, we will give notice on this website first where we reasonably can.
Liu Cards is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, and nothing limits our responsibility for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Our responsibility to you
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unexpected losses, for lost study data, or for anything another user publishes to a channel. Because the app is free, our total liability to you is limited to fifty euros.
Ending it
You may stop using Liu Cards whenever you like. To remove your account and everything in it, follow the steps at liucards.app/delete. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we must act on for legal reasons. We will tell you why where we can.
Which law applies
Dutch law governs these terms and anything that arises from them. A dispute we cannot settle between us goes to the competent court in the Netherlands.
If you use Liu Cards as a consumer, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may also bring your case before the courts there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do, and the current version always lives on this page. If a change matters to you, your choice is to stop using the app and delete your account.
